The most common theme that was inserted in most of "The Nanny" Episodes was that there as a sexual attraction among Maxwell Sheffield and Fran Fine. There are different TV shows that have included a teaser for audience which includes Moonlight, Northern Exposure, Remington Steele and who's the Boss? The Nanny episodes have another not so usual aspect that was added by having Mr. Sheffield's partner. "C.C. Babcock" as they were interested in him too, who is very jealous about his attraction towards Fran Fine.

The episodes present in the first season of The Nanny were made to make up the premises and the main characters for the series. One of the greatest episodes is "Smoke gets in your lies" in which Fran Fine catches Brighton smoking, and then she introduces her chain-smoking grandma Yetta to him as a symbol of warning him. "The Nuchshlep" depicts Fran becomes the third wheel of Maggie's love life; "The Nanny-in-Law" gives a clear idea of Maxwell's childhood Nanny who was Mueller, played by Cloris Leachman. Mueller visits Maxwell and Fran gets her blood boiled. Mueller also gets Niles hot under the collar; "Imaginary Friend", where Fran Fine accidentally eats Gracie's imaginary buddy Imogene; "Here Comes the Brood" in which C.C. tries her hand by taking Grace, Benjamin and Brighton to the zoo, but the whole affair went off like a disaster. C.C. changes the mind of them by saying that Fran spends her time with them only because Maxwell pays her. Now Grace runs away to Fran's parents' house in search of Fran. Finally she ends up with a wedding of Fran Fine's friend; "The Butler", the Husband, the Wife and her Mother-Niles are worried since the Butler's association has begun to start evaluating him. In the mean time Fran Fine's mother tells some people that Maxwell and Fran Fine are married. When one thing leads to another, Fran is impersonating the lady of the house, Niles is impersonating her husband Maxwell, and Maxwell is impersonating Niles; and finally "The Gym Teacher" which teaches how Fran confronts Miss Wickervich, played by Rita Moreno, who is the former gym instructor for Fran.
